I don't know if this is the best way to accomplish my objective, and I am open to better suggestions, but this does work for me. I went back to Acrobat Pro DC and started a scan, and everything seems to work as it did with my old scanner. Once I clicked Save here, the HP screen closed. Key for me was the Source setting being "Document Feeder if loaded". My system then brought up the following page, on which I just made sure that the settings that I wanted were set, and clicked Save. On the next screen that popped up (below), I clicked on the source (only one is listed since I only have one), and clicked on the Select button.ģ. Looking at my menu for HP solutions that might help drive the right parameters to Adobe, and knowing that TWAIN worked for me with my last HP multi-function, I found HP TWAIN Administration on my menu.Ģ.
Adobe acrobat dc won't open windows 10 64 Bit#
I am running Windows 10 Pro, on a 64 bit operating systemĪs a followup, last night I was able to establish a work around. It does allow me to scan from the flatbead all day long, but most everything I scan is a multipage document, and the flatbed is not a reasonable solution for me in most cases.ġ. Two are labeled WIA and one is labeled TWAI (which I guess is probably TWAIN but it got cutoff due to a field length issue). Acrobat won't let me edit any of the other presets with any of the three drivers that show up in the scanner selection box. I feel like I am missing out on something since I had my old HP working nicely for any scanner mode option that Acrobat offers as presets. Now even when I only use Custom Scan since this is the only way I can get any scanning from the document feeder, and that only because it allows me to select to Show Scanner's Native Interface, it still only scans one page out of the two that I put in the feeder.
It works fine in the HP Smart software/app, but I annotate and edit my scans for future reference, and just generally like the Acrobat platform for this work.įor a little bit it was crashing in the middle of my scans, until I removed the HP OCR program I.R.I.S. Thus far, I have been unable to use the document feeder successfully with Acrobat.
Adobe acrobat dc won't open windows 10 pdf#
With this device now dead, I updated to the HP OfficeJet 9010. Windows 10 won't recognise Adobe Acrobat Reader on my laptop so I can't open PDFs - any suggestions I've tried various windows and adobe troubleshooters, reinstalling Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, modifying it and making sure it's the default choice for PDF files but it still won't work at all. I used to select the TWAIN driver to make it work, but it worked. (If the Default level button is dimmed, continue to the next step.) Move the slider until the security level is Medium, click Apply, and then click OK. I have regularly used Acrobat Pro DC to scan from my (now dead) HP Photosmart 7525 multifunction device. Move the slider until the security level is Medium, and then click Apply.
